Really Gory, Gross Photos - are you sure you want to look?

Seriously, these photos are really gross, like horror-movie gross.
Only worse, because you know it's real, and not some fantastic makeup.

I've posted them here because I think they're interesting.
I think the way the human body works is fascinating,
and I think something like this shows how amazingly resilient the body can be.

But they are truly yucky, so if blood and gore is too much for you,
perhaps you'd better not look.
You've been warned.

Yes, I'm smiling despite the gigantic,
6-inch laceration in my leg.
It's amazing what a shot of Dilaudid can do.

I put my credit card (and a pen, next photo) next to the wound, for a size comparison.
The photo doesn't really show how deep it was -- just over an inch.

Here, the doctor begins to stitch the wound.

Almost done stitching. It's like Frankenstein's leg.

Finished! Now I just have to wait another hour to go home...

The doctor didn't do traditional stitching on this wound.
They decided to only use a few stitches, as they were afraid that typical movement
(such as walking) would tear the stitches out.

If my leg had been stitched the way facial or finger wounds are usually stitched,
it would have required more than two hundred stitches.

That was gross! Click here to return to the blog
